Rangeland Management
Range Management education targets information transfer and training in selection and proper use of
grazing and brush management practices that integrate the latest technology and research available.
Integration of chemical, mechanical and prescribed fire in a brush management system is encouraged.
Herbicide selection and timing of applications are important considerations due to interspersed acreages of
sensitive row crops common in the Rolling Plains. Prescribed burning as a viable range improvement practice
is becoming more widely accepted. Learning to balance forage supply with livestock demand is promoted
through special grazing management workshops.
Our Range Managemant program is headed up by J.F. Cadenhead.
