                         Masters Degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies - University of North Texas

Title:                 Extension Program Specialist for 4-H and Youth Development in the North Region, District 3

Duties:
        1)             Provide leadership for developing a comprehensive 4-H and youth development program in the north region.

        2)             Support County Extension Agents, volunteers, and adult and youth leaders; design, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate programs for youth using principles of extension program development and youth education.

       3)              Provide training for Extension faculty and volunteers in youth development, 4-H operation, and volunteers management development.

       4)             Provide leadership for Adult Leadership Development, Bully Prevention Curriculum and Character Education for Texas 4-H.

       5)             Provide opportunities for youth to meet the following objectives:
                       (a)     Develop leadership skills, build character and assume citizenship responsibilities.
                       (b)     Explore career, job and productive leisure opportunities.
                       (c)     Develop skills, knowledge and attitudes for long life-long use.
                       (d)     Learn to use accepted practices for mental, physical and emotional health and to respect themselves and      others.
                       (e)     Share knowledge with others.
