A primary goal of the entomology research program is to develop biological, cultural, and chemical control strategies for cotton insect pests.  Basic biological and ecological studies of cotton pests and their natural enemies are important aspects of the research program.   Ecological studies and management of rangeland insects is a minor goal.  The studies are specifically designed to provide answers for insect problems in the Texas Rolling Plains, but results may be adaptable to other regions in Texas and the United States.
